On Bus to Tirana from Skodra (Skodar)

Arbri and his roommate, Veran (sp?) Both medical students. I met Arbri on the bus and he invited me to sit next to him.

Another unlocked bike

I found out that Albania has joined NATO. The offical date of entry is April 4 and there is a lot of propoganda about it.

Ths is a mix of the NATO symbol and the Albanian flag.

Here are more pics of the hostel
I was really surprised to see the words to John Lennon's song Imagine on this plant vase.

Across the street was this restauant, too.

A McDonalds wannabe. So far there are no McDonalds in Albania.

Before this pic I tried to take a pic of the American flag at the American Embassy but the security gaurd called some other guards who drove up and I had to erase the pic and another one I took of the symbol with the eagle on it which is on the gate. They were nice about it but it seemed very unnesssary to Arbri and Verena from Germany who were with me. We met Verena in the hostel and inited her to walk around the city with us.

These boys who cell cigarettes on the street started arguing and almost got into a fight. It is sad there are so many rich people here (as in the world) and boys have to argue and fight over such a small amount of money.

I asked this Albanian high school student what the above grafitti meant and we had a laugh.

Sounds like a word in English doesn't it? It is on a Mercedes as you will see.....

A nice park by an artifical lake. We started calling it the fake lake park. Arbri and Verena both have a good sense of humor. it was a pleasure to spend the day with them.

Lots of joggers. Even jogging in the mud.

I was surprised to see these cows in the park! I don't think this would be legal in the USA where I lived for so long.

The owner of the cows. I have videos but who knows when I will post them

Verena didn't want to get her nice, white shoes dirty. You can see she did a good job of avoiding the mud!

The cow-owner's shoes. He calls himself a communits, by the way. He and Arbri were debating about communism and democracy.

Arbri

This is outside some military type building. Arbri asked a guy with a gun if we could take this pic and he said ok.

The one on the right is the Iranian flag.

In the Sky Club revolving restaurant. Just like in Dallas where I used to live!
